RSS Feeds
Have the latest Sierra Club news and events delivered
to you.
RSS feeds permit you go to one place to check the latest news and
events that would otherwise be scattered across many different web sites.
Which RSS-enabled sites you choose to incorporate in your personalized
RSS page is entirely up to you. We hope, however, that you will choose
to add both the latest Sierra club news as well as upcoming Sierra Club
events to your RSS page. That way you can stay informed without actually
having to visit the Sierra Club web site.
If you are not currently using RSS, but want to learn more about it,
check out the following article in the New York Times:
The D.C. chapter of the Sierra Club has two RSS feeds: one for chapter
news and another for chapter events. You can subscribe to either on
or both through the RSS feed display site of your choice.
Three of the most popular sites for displaying RSS feeds from other
web sites are Google, myYahoo, and myAOL. Clicking on the appropriate
link below will add one of the Sierra Club RSS feeds to your personalized
RSS page on one of these sites. You can also click on their icons below
to learn more about those sites.
If you opted to display the Sierra Club feeds on myYahoo, you have
the option of changing the default settings for the display of those
feeds. By default, myYahoo only displays items that were posted in the
last three days. In order to ensure that you see all four items that
are included in each Sierra club feed, therefore, you will need to change
the setting by removing the posting date restriction. Similar personalization
may be necessary with other feed display sites, as well.
You can add the D.C. chapter RSS feeds to other RSS feed display pages,
as well. These can be web-based sites like myAOL and myYahoo or desktop
applications that you can download to your computer. In either case,
simply copy one of the URLs below and paste it into the appropriate
form on the RSS web site or desk top application of your choice.
